ANNANAGAR RESIDENCE
Chennai
Surface – 5,000 sqft

The Architectural intent was to develop a formal /spatial strategy that which is stacked vertically due to the dense programming and site area constraints. Geometric volumes , surfaces and a fairly large cantilever at the front create a sense of drama and order. The exterior surfaces are composed of white painted walls and pre cast concrete panels. Stainless Steel ‘jaalis’ or ‘Mashrabbas’ adorn the glazed surfaces to form intricate shadow patterns on the inside and to make a contemporary statement from the outside. The spaces within the house are flanked by the vertical concrete walls on two sides and offer varied experiences from the central cut out and the rooms.
